Managing Change and Transition


Sometimes we plan it, other times it just happens.  Then we need a period of adjustment.  That time is called transition.  The period of transition involves an internal process we need to go through in order to adapt to the change.  During this stage, support systems maybe disrupted, distant, or suddenly non-existent.  With the comfort of the familiar gone, this can feel strange, perhaps frightening, yet it's also a time marked by opportunity.

Career transition work focuses on individuals whose professional careers and lives are being impacted by change.  In business, the goal is to help employees and employers work with the least possible disruption and distress as they relinquish what had been and process the new situation in the most effective, creative ways possible
